Interview #3: Hollywood


Brenda L. Flores: I am here with the great, Antonio Garcia also known as Hollywood. How are you doing?

Hollywood: Very well.

Brenda L. Flores: How many years have you been a photographer?

Hollywood: 42 years in March.

Brenda L. Flores: How did you get started?

Hollywood: With a polaroid.

Brenda L. Flores: Have you met any artist?

Hollywood: I have photographed many artist like Rocio Durcal, Antonio Aguilar, Lucha Villa, and Cantinflas. Many artist who exist and existed.

Brenda L. Flores: If you weren’t photographer, what would you be doing?

Hollywood: I would be a tailor. I have worked as a tailor in the past.

Brenda L. Flores: What are some things about you that people don’t know?

Hollywood: That I have worked as a tailor and also in construction. I have painted houses, and also worked as a taxi man in Mexico when I was younger. I have more time working as a photographer, but a little bit of everything.

Brenda L. Flores: Congratulations on having a long career, very pretty and flexible.

Hollywood: I started when I was 28 years old and it will be 42 years almost.

Brenda L. Flores: So, when it the first time they called you Hollywood?

Hollywood: I did not hear it. It’s my fault. I would say here is the camera for the artist of hollywood. And after that when ever they see me they would say here comes hollywood.

Brenda L. Flores: What is your favorite part of being a photographer?

Hollywood: My favorite part is taking photos of celebrities.

Brenda L. Flores: Well, thank you for letting me interview you.
